In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, a 19-year-old contestant, Sanidhya Gupta from Delhi, walked away with just Rs 10,000. He lost after Amitabh Bachchan posed a question about the Monalisa, prompting him to use a lifeline.

Amitabh Bachchan asked a question worth Rs 10,000 to contestant Sanidhya Gupta that read, "On what surface did Leonardo Di Vinci paint the Monalisa? Option A) Wood B) Paper C) Canvas D)Bronze."

Sanidhya opted to use a lifeline and chose to poll the audience. They overwhelmingly favoured Option C, which was Canvas, with 66 per cent of the votes.

However, the veteran actor then remarked, "Sir uttar galat hoh gaya hai. Sahi uttar hai wood. Monalisa ko 16th century ke shuruvat mei wood par chitrit kia gaya tha. (Your answer is incorrect. The correct answer is wood. The Monalisa was originally painted on a wooden surface in the early 16th century).”

Big B then sympathized with the contestant and said, “Gadbadh hoh gayi aapke khel mei (There was a blunder in your game). I am sad and thought you would reach great heights, but no problem. You have an entire life left ahead. I hope wherever you want to go, and one day we again meet in the game."

Sanidhya is pursuing an Economics Honours degree at St Stephen's College in Delhi. A sports enthusiast, he dreams of one day owning a cricket team like Amitabh Bachchan. His passion for sports extends beyond a hobby; he aims to build a career in this field, aspiring to become either a data analyst or a scientist specialising in sports.
