Vicky Vidya Ka... box office Day 3: Rajkummar's film wraps decent opening weekend

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video might not have collected at par expectations, but it still managed to finish its first weekend run on a decent note. The Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri film minted around Rs 18 crore in three days.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video finished its first weekend run at around Rs 18 crore nett in India. The film opened in the range of Rs 5 crore and grew slightly to Rs 6.9 crore on Saturday, the Dussehra holiday. The first Sunday business didn't see a giant drop and the collections remained almost steady. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film earned around Rs 6.25 crore nett on its first Sunday, taking the three-day business to around Rs 18.65 crore, reported the trade website Sacnilk.

The family comedy drama was expected to earn more, especially because it was released during the festive weekend. However, the film received mixed reviews and couldn't really maximise the potential of its family-friendly genre.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video faced a box office clash with Jigra. The Alia Bhatt and Vedang Rana-starrer minted in the range of Rs 16 crore nett in its opening weekend. While Rajkummar and Triptti's film managed to remain ahead of Jigra and registered a decent opening weekend.

The film has got a big three-week-long run at the box office without any interruption. However, its Monday business will determine if it can really go that far at the ticket window or not. On November 1, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will hit the screens as the big Diwali releases this year, and all eyes remain there now.
