  • Anupamaa may take a 10-15 year leap
  • Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna to remain
  • Many current cast members to exit the show

The popular daily soap Anupamaa might just take a new leap of 10–5 years with a fresh set of casting. Various media reports suggest that the show is going to undergo several changes, except for its primary lead cast, which includes Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna, playing Anupamaa and Anuj, respectively.

The show had recently undergone a leap of a few months, after which Anuj and Anupamaa were seen shifting to the Asha Bhawan, followed by the entire Shah family. However, with the leap of 10–15 years, the makers are planning a totally new storyline with Rupali and Gaurav leading the story, while the rest of the cast members seem out of the picture.

The names which are speculated to leave the show with the leap include Nidhi Shah, Kunwar Amar Singh, Gaurav Sharma, Alpana Buch, Arvind Vaidya, Aurra Bhatnagar. Most of these actors have been associated with the show since the very beginning.
Neither the makers nor the cast members have spoken about the news yet.

Meanwhile, several important actors left the show this year, including Sudhanshu Pandey (Vanraj) and Madalsa Sharma (Kavya).

In an interview with IndiaToday.in, Madalsa revealed that her character, Kavya, had lost all her edge. She said she talked to the makers about reviving the character and giving her some importance in the narrative, but the writers couldn't do that with the presence of so many characters in the story already.

Anupamaa, which is produced by Rajan Shahi, airs on Star Plus from Monday-Saturday at 10 pm.
