The 70th National Film Awards will take place today, October 8 at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Along with the National Award winners, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty will be conferred with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the ceremony by President Droupadi Murmu. WHEN WILL NATIONAL FILM AWARDS TAKE PLACE?

The 70th National Film Awards ceremony is set to take place on October 8 at Vigyan Bhavan in the National Capital. The event will celebrate the best of Indian cinema over the past year, with winners and notable figures expected to attend.

WHERE TO WATCH THE NATIONAL FILM AWARDS?

Cinema enthusiasts can catch the entire National Film Awards ceremony live on YouTube via the official DD News Channel. The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 3 PM, starting with winners walking the red carpet before heading to the stage to receive their honors.

PRESIDENT DROUPADI MURMU TO HONOUR RECIPIENTS

President Murmu will honour the National Award recipient, including the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award which will be conferred on veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty.

NATIONAL AWARD WINNERS

This year's awards highlighted the prominence of regional cinema, with the Malayalam film Aattam: The Play winning Best Feature Film. Rishab Shetty took home Best Actor for the Kannada hit Kantara, while the Best Actress honor was shared by Nithya Menen for Thiruchitrambalam and Manasi Parekh for Kutch Express. Sooraj Barjatya earned the Best Director award for Unnchai, and Neena Gupta was named Best Supporting Actress. Gulmohar was recognized as the Best Hindi Film, and actor Manoj Bajpayee received a special mention for his performance in the film.

Meanwhile, Choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master’s National Film Award has been revoked in response to the sexual harassment case filed against him by his assistant choreographer. Jani Master was arrested in Goa earlier this month on charges related to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
