Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi are currently shooting for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan. The anticipation around the movie is unprecedented and as the film production is currently ongoing in Film City in Mumbai, India Today has learnt that Tiwari will develop this as a trilogy.

A source said, “Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan will be a trilogy, with the first film focusing on Ram and Sita up until Sita's abduction by Raavan. The second film in the trilogy will be a standalone on Hanuman led by Sunny Deol. This film will delve into it deeper with his connection to Vanwas and Sita's abduction, followed by the third film based on the aftermath of Sita being abducted by Raavan. The film is currently being shot in parallel so that there are no long gaps between the releases of this trilogy.”

Apart from Ranbir and Sai, who plays Sita in the upcoming epic, reports suggest that megastar Amitabh Bachchan will give his voice to Jatayu. On the other hand, Ravi Dubey will be seen as Laxman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Arun Govil as Dashrath, and Harman Baweja as Vibhishan, among others.

As per reports, the shooting for the first part is almost done. Ranbir reportedly went on a strict diet to embody the role of Lord Ram in the epic. While the casting was welcomed with a mixed response, there is a sense of excitement around the hugely mounted saga.
