TV actor Nia Sharma is the first confirmed contestant on Bigg Boss 18. The new season of the Salman Khan-hosted show will premiere on October 6. Nia is a popular TV actor, having headlined shows such as Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Naagin, and Suhagan Chudail.

However, it wasn't Nia Sharma who announced the news of her new chapter. The TV sensation was on the finale episode of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, where host Rohit Shetty broke the news. The filmmaker said that Nia was the first confirmed participant on the controversial reality show. As celebs on the sets congratulated Nia, she resorted to a nervous smile.

Previously, a source confirmed the actor's participation to India Today Digital, "Nia was finally ready to get herself locked inside the house and signed the dotted lines a couple of days ago. Along with her, the team is also quite excited about having her on board."

Having said that Nia had rejected Bigg Boss multiple times. She once appeared on Bigg Boss OTT as a guest and exited soon after. Soon after, she told a portal that she wouldn't be able to be on the show for three months. She also maintained that the show was a "shortcut to success".

"The very fact that they came to me with the offer to appear as a guest was why I accepted it,” Nia told News18, further adding, “It was thoroughly fun. So, looking at this Bigg Boss life from outside is a whole different game but when you actually get inside it’s very different. I was there for a day and I just looked at every camera and they were constantly at you 24—7. And, because I knew my time would get over soon I never slept for those 24 hours. I was just embracing the moments there. But I can’t go in there for three months."

She also said, “I can do without Bigg Boss. I feel like it’s a shortcut to success. I don’t need it. I don’t want to take that route. I want to prove my worth and not just go on Bigg Boss, abuse the f*** out of everyone and look like, ‘Hey, I’m Nia Sharma.’ I don’t want to do that."

It is now left to see how Nia Sharma fares on Bigg Boss 18.
