- He believes some flops become cult classics over time.
Bobby Deol, who has recently experienced a resurgence in his career, expressed a heartfelt desire to see his 1999 film Dillagi, one of his most beloved films, back on the big screen.
Speaking exclusively to India Today Digital, Bobby Deol shared that Dillagi remains one of his favourite projects. "Some of the films that don't do well at the box office become cult films for you. Your audience and fans suddenly start loving the same film that didn't do well at the box office. So I would love some of those films to be re-released," the 55-year-old actor said.
He added, "My favourite film is Dillagi. My brother directed it (Sunny Deol). It had great music, a great storyline, and it was his first time as a director. I loved that film, not only because my brother directed it but also because of the way it was. I wish people could see that again."
In addition to Dillagi, Bobby also expressed his wish to see a few of his other films back on the silver screen. "The other films are still evergreen because people still love the songs from Soldier, Gupt, Bichhoo. Kareeb was also a beautiful film, and it became a cult classic afterward. People keep talking about how much they love the film, and the music was great too, so I guess these few films should be re-released."
The actor is currently promoting his upcoming film Kanguva with Suriya. This will mark his debut in the South film industry. The film also stars Disha Patani and is set to release on November 14.
