BLACKPINK's LISA praised globally for performing for free at the Global Citizen Festival, where all funds were donated

This year, BLACKPINK's LISA took center stage as one of the headliners at the Global Citizen Festival, which took place on September 28 on the iconic Great Lawn in Central Park, New York. Known for her electrifying performances, Lisa captivated the audience with standout renditions of "Rockstar," "New Woman," and "Moonlit Floor." However, the most remarkable detail that has recently come to light is that Lisa agreed to perform without receiving any payment, in support of the festival’s mission. This selfless act has garnered widespread praise and admiration across social media platforms.

The Global Citizen Festival, dedicated to raising awareness and funds for pressing global challenges, pledged to donate all proceeds from the event toward improving access to education for children in Gaza, Palestine, Sudan, and several countries in Africa. By choosing to perform pro bono, Lisa helped spotlight these important causes, further elevating the festival's impact.

Lisa's decision to perform solely for the cause has only increased her admiration among fans and beyond, as many continue to share their appreciation for her generosity and commitment to making a positive difference in the world.

“From Gaza to Sudan, children are sharing their experiences of conflict and the importance of access to education. World leaders have a moral obligation to fund emergency education access for over 226 million children in crisis,” the Global Citizen Festival stated on its official X account, formerly called Twitter.

In Gaza and Sudan, thousands of children face immense challenges due to ongoing war and conflict. The lack of educational facilities and the deeply rooted economic impact in these regions means that children urgently need international aid. Given this, a spokesperson for Global Citizen mentioned the following about Lisa:

“Lisa is someone who deeply cares about social issues, and her voluntary participation in this festival demonstrates her commitment to positive change in the world. With the help of global superstars like her, the funds raised are expected to create better educational opportunities for thousands of children living in conflict zones".

“Lisa not only breaks records but also shatters barriers. We believe education is the key to a better future, and together we can make meaningful change”.

Meanwhile, Lisa continues to enchant fans with the continuous release of new solo songs since leaving YG Entertainment. She recently released the song "Moonlit Floor" and it is speculated that two new songs are on the way before the release of her long-awaited album.
