Oasis have finally confirmed they are heading to North America on tour next year - their first dates there for 16 years.

Liam and Noel Gallagher will reunite their band next year and begin with Ireland and UK dates starting in Cardiff. They had previously stated there would be further gigs to come as part of a world tour and have now announced them which also include shows in Canada in August and Mexico in September.

In a statement Noel and Liam Gallagher said: “America. Oasis is coming. You have one last chance to prove that you loved us all along.”

The first US date will be in Chicago on August 28 before they head to East Rutherford in New Jersey for August 31.

The band also released a separate statement in Spanish for their gig in Mexico, the statement translates as: "People of Mexico, prepare yourselves. The Brothers are on the way."

The news comes 16 years since their last performance in North America.

The North American leg, produced by Live Nation and SJM, will see Oasis play stadiums in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Los Angeles and Mexico City next summer with Cage The Elephant as the special guest across all dates.

The previously announced dates on the Oasis Live ‘25 tour sold out immediately culminating in the biggest concert launch ever seen in the UK and Ireland, with the band revealed that over 10 million fans from 158 countries were queuing to buy tickets. The meltdown and the dynamic pricing of some tickets led to criticism for Ticketmaster.

Days after their return, the band claimed their 8th UK No. 1 album with the 30th anniversary of their electrifying debut album Definitely Maybe, while at the same time occupying two other spots in the top 5 UK albums chart.

Earlier this month Liam finally revealed who was responsible for putting Oasis back together. The Oasis frontman, 51, admitted he was responsible for making up after fighting with Noel for years.

And Liam said it was him who picked up the phone to patch things up with his brother. It is thought he had been encouraged to do so by mum Peggy, partner Debbie and guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs.

Asked on X, formerly twitter, who called first him or Noel, Liam replied: "I called him but don’t tell anyone as I don't want folk thinking I’m a soft lad and stuffs keep it between me n you cheers x."

The reply was laced with humour was typical of Liam's responses on social media.

Liam and Noel posed in a new photo together when the full details of their first shows in 16 years were announced on August 27 - sparking pandemonium amongst fans.

In a joint statement on behalf of Oasis, the brothers said: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

In a video to promote the comeback, Liam is also heard saying: "When we both come together, you have greatness."

Noel says: "I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening."

Other band members for the Oasis reunion are yet to be confirmed but a number of people have been approached including Ride guitarist Andy Bell who has been in the band before.

Other members linked to the new version of Oasis so far are guitarist Gem Archer, who plays in Noel's High Flying Birds band, and Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs.

Bonehead is a founding member of Oasis and close friends with Liam and Noel, credited with trying to reconcile them.

Although 57-year-old Gem is not an original Oasis band member, he joined the group in 1999 and played for a decade alongside the Gallaghers before Noel quit the band in 2009.

Since 2009, he has first played with Liam Gallagher in his band Beady Eye, before later joining Noel's solo project Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds in 2017.
