EX-2FM star Jennifer Zamparelli has confirmed she will not be the host of the Irish version of The Traitors.

But the Dancing With The Stars host has revealed she will star in a short film early next year – while in the middle of her hosting duties on the glitzy RTÉ One show, which returns in January.

It was previously rumoured Jennifer could be lined up to host the Irish version of the hit UK show – but the star has now shut down rumours.

Jennifer told the Irish Mirror: “No I’m not. I think there’s so many things that have to be in place for that. Timing, when it’s on, Dancing With The Stars – all that kind of stuff but right now it is a no.”

Jennifer will return to our screens with Doireann Garrihy in January for Dancing With The Stars – and the presenter already has a jam-packed start to 2025.

Speaking about the last six months since leaving 2FM after ten years, the mother-of-two said: “I’m six months gone now. I’m very happy. I’m very content. I’m excited that I have space in my life to be able to audition, to be able to do stuff like this.

“I was in a writing room recently. I’m going to do a short film down the road. I can’t say much about it. It’s Irish. It will be happening early next year. It’s right in the middle of Dancing With The Stars. Production will be soon, but it’s written so I’m excited about that.

“I’ve loads of exciting projects lined up that I never had time before or space in my brain to even consider. I’ve read a load of books, flat out in the gym. I’m just enjoying the slower pace.

“Spending time with the kids is great. It’s nice to be around but I do miss the crew and doing the show but I’ve done ten years and I feel it was time to move on. Otherwise, I felt I was getting a bit stuck. I needed to make a drastic decision and I’m not afraid to do stuff like that. It worked out.”

Jennifer was speaking on Wednesday at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre’s 2025 launch, where the theatre announced a host of new shows coming to Dublin next year, including Melissa Hamilton’s Ballet Stars Gala (17-18 September).

Fans of celebrated productions can also look forward to the electrifying return of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake from May 20-24, Paw Patrol on September 13 and 14, Kinky Boots from July 15 to 19 and the cult favourite, Little Shop of Horrors, from July 25 to August 9. And, in a major debut, the Irish National Dance Company LUAIL will present Chora on May 13, a groundbreaking new work that promises to redefine contemporary Irish dance.

Speaking about the launch, Jennifer said she always enjoys bringing her daughter Florence to the theatre.

“I took her to see loads of shows here. I want her memory to be that I take her to the theatre. I think it is really important. My mam always did it with me.

“The thing about a place like this and why it is so special is because we get to see the big shows, we don’t have to travel to London or New York. These big shows come to us and they’re so accessible now because of the Bord Gais.”
