The countdown to the most magical night of the year has begun as those wishing to attend this year’s Late Late Toy Show can begin applying now for a place in this year's audience.

The annual RTE festive extravaganza will air a little later than usual this year, with the eagerly anticipated Christmas special returning to screens across Ireland on Friday, December 6.

With just under a month to go, The Late Late Toy Show has opened its doors, inviting members of the public to be a part of the biggest television event of the year.

With the Toy Show being all about kids and their toys, big kids around the country can try their luck at being a part of the fun by entering the Toy Show ticket lottery.

As part of the application, you’ll be asked to share your favourite Christmas song and applicants are reminded that these golden tickets are non-transferable. Those hoping to secure a ticket must be available on Friday December 6.

All you have to do to apply is fill out the questionnaire here and wish upon your lucky stars. The information provided on this questionnaire will be treated as private and confidential.

As the demand for Late Late Toy Show tickets far exceeds the number of seats available for the show, RTE cannot guarantee that every applicant will receive tickets. In the interest of fairness and to ensure that everyone has an equal chance, producers allocate tickets on a random selection basis.

Should your application be successful, producers will contact you by email/phone the week before the show.

"It’s that special time of the year where I become weirdly popular with family, friends and complete strangers," said Late Late Show host Patrick Kielty. "And yet they all just want to ask me the same question “Any chance of an aul ticket for the Toy Show?”

"Well sadly I don’t have any and can’t get any BUT here’s how you could be joining me for the biggest night of the year on December 6th. Remember, Toy Show dreams do come true but you gotta be in it to win in. So be quick. And be lucky!’
