A Beatles documentary, on Disney+? Groundbreaking. We kid, we kid! But there are already two on the platform. Well, here come’s a third, this time about the Beatles’ American tour in 1964. Aptly titled Beatles ‘64, the doc comes from director David Tedeschi (Pretend It’s a City) and producer Martin Scorsese (TikTok). According to Deadline, The film will have footage of the band filmed by the Mayseles brothers, restored by Park Road Post in New Zealand. There will also be footage of the band’s first US concert in Washington, DC as well as their Ed Sullivan appearances, remixed by Giles Martin. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr did interviews for the proj, which will be intermingled with talking heads from “fans whose lives were transformed by The Beatles.” The film will debut alongside a massive vinyl reissue of early Beatles albums in mono. Huge news for people who have lost one ear bud. Beatles ’64 will come to Disney+ November 29, just in time for noncontroversial family viewing during the holidays.
