Ruth Langsford has reportedly taken out the stairlift installed for her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes from their shared residence, an insider disclosed.

The well-known GB News anchor and his wife Ruth Langsford, who have been a familiar duo on This Morning, parted ways in May after a 14-year marriage. The couple shares a son, Jack, born in 2002.

Their separation came as a surprise to their fans. Their breakup was officially confirmed by a spokesperson who stated: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

Eamonn, aged 64, has since found companionship with 42 year old relationship counsellor Katie, whom he met on Twitter several years ago, developing a strong bond over time.

Ruth, a panelist on Loose Women, has made changes to their Surrey home by removing the stairlift that was put in place for Eamonn, who has struggled with severe back issues. The lift was specifically fitted to assist him in reaching his former bedroom upstairs.

A source informed the Mail on Sunday: "Ruth doesn't need [a stairlift]. She's super-fit and healthy."

The source also spoke out about Ruth Langsford's dignified silence amidst her split from Eamonn Holmes, saying: "Ruth has remained quiet and classy. Even when people bring up what Eamonn has been up to, she stays silent and just smiles. She thinks that is the best way. She has had a lot of support from her friends."

Ruth's colleague and friend, Coleen Nolan, has also expressed admiration for her poise during this time.

Coleen shared her thoughts on Ruth's situation, stating: "Ruth and I keep in touch all the time. She's back at work now, which is great because I really missed her."

Highlighting Ruth's composure, Coleen said: "I don't want to say too much because it's not my business to say Ruth's life, but what I will say from a friend's point of view is, I've never met anyone that has handled something with so much dignity and pride."

She continued, expressing her respect: "She's just such a lady, more of a lady then I'll ever be, I would've spilled my guts right now - as I do, that's my problem, I say too much. She's been absolutely amazing, she really has."

Despite offering advice, Coleen revealed that Ruth tends to keep her own counsel.

"I've given her advice but she doesn't listen to me, I'm going, 'How can you not say anything? ' But I don't need to give her advice," she told Woman Magazine.

Coleen also mentioned her ongoing support for Ruth, adding: "I just love her and I'm in awe of how she's handled everything."
