Bargain Hunt's own expert Tim Weeks has declared his role on the BBC One show as "a dream come true". Offering insight into his everyday work, he said: "As for the day job, I absolutely love everything about being an auctioneer - from valuation and researching to cataloguing and auctioneering, I genuinely love it."

"I'm fortunate enough to work around great people where we work very hard, but also have a lot of fun," added Weeks, who is the director of Wessex Auction Rooms, which boasts a particular focus on Toy Collector's Auctions.

His path to television stardom was unique. While co-hosting BBC's Street Auction, he caught the attention of Bargain Hunt's higher-ups, leading to an invitation for a screen test, an opportunity that saw him fit perfectly into the role.

When the cameras are off, Weeks shares a bit about his personal joys: "coffee, chocolate and singing in my car". Discussing leisure time, he says it involves: "Having fun and lots of madness with my wife Alexa and two children Albie and Bella. They all boss me around!"

Though once an avid collector, Weeks now focuses his resources on family, explaining: "I try not to [collect] anymore! I used to collect loads."

He mentioned past treasures such as "Football programmes, toys, vinyls, ceramics but I tend to spend my money on the kids instead of me these days."

The Weeks family enjoys life together in picturesque Chippenham, located in the idyllic northwest Wiltshire.

Although Tim may have stepped back from adding to his personal collection, he looked back fondly at the financial ups and downs encountered during his stints on Bargain Hunt.

"I once found an old scrapbook containing 1940s football newspaper cuttings at a car boot sale," he shared.

"I asked how much it was and was told £40. It felt a little steep for a dirty old scrapbook until I flicked to the back pages, which had 21 wartime single sheet football programmes neatly stuck onto them, and I quickly realised it was a bargain."

"It also had match tickets, bubble gum cards and autographs. I sold it for over £1,000 after I performed the painstaking task of steaming each item out of the book."

However, not all of his ventures have been successful, as he recalled one particular misfortune: "When they arrived they were all facsimile and worth about a tenner! Wow, it still hurts."
