Stephen Mulhern, the host of ITV's Deal or No Deal, had to break some tough news to contestant Orla from Belfast, who ended up with a rather disappointing prize after her stint on the show.

Orla took the hot seat on Deal or No Deal after being part of the show since its very first series. The game involves contestants taking turns to open boxes for others until it's their chance to test their fortune.

By the end of her game, Orla was left with two low-value amounts £750 and £250. Despite an offer of £3,190 from the banker, she played on, only to be left with £250 in the end.

Stephen delivered the crushing news to Orla, calculating her average daily earnings from her time on the show, saying: "She's been here literally from the start, from the start of the first series, and she's won literally... well, £10 a day."

Post-show, Orla has had happier times, having welcomed a child with her partner Caolan. She had hoped to use her winnings to decorate a nursery, but unfortunately, £250 doesn't go far, reports the Daily Star.

Her partner shared the joyous news on Instagram, posting: "I'd like to introduce everyone to little baby Aogan Caolan McCallion - this little beautiful person decided to grace us on October 30th at 12.11pm weighing a tiny six pounds 10 ounces and a tiny 49cm."

He gushed with pure joy, exclaiming: "Absolutely obsessed and so much in love with him already. I'd like a massive shout out to Orla as well for being an absolute warrior and delivering baby safe and sound. What a beautiful woman and person I love you both forever."

The star proudly sported a 'baby on board' badge while on the show, signalling her growing bump was part of the journey after the initial reveal. She playfully informed the audience, "So the good news is I've brought someone new with me but you can't see them!" as the programme resumed for its sophomore season.

In the face of a disheartening setback from the banker, Orla received warm embraces from her fellow cast members, who took turns recounting amusing anecdotes about their shared moments on set which even involved Orla's playful request to "sniff someone's wine" due to her own abstinence.
