Strictly Come Dancing's Janette Manrara has opened up about being "snappy" towards her husband Aljaz Skorjanec, attributing it to getting close to burnout.

The 40 year old professional dancer, who recently made a comeback on the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two and is a mother to one year old Lyra Rose with Aljaz, also revealed she's been busy with her new book.

Janette shared her feelings of being overwhelmed during an appearance on the Monday Mile podcast with Aimee Fuller. When asked if she ever feels exhausted to the point of not knowing how to cope, Janette admitted: "It happened recently actually, Aljaz noticed I was being a little snappy with him. Only to him, because I love him more than anyone."

She continued, explaining that Aljaz's concern led to a heartfelt conversation: "He noticed I was being a bit on-edge and he asked me 'are you okay?' Just that question, we don't ask it enough to each other, and like genuinely ask it, not just like, 'hey, you alright, you okay?' but like really putting your hand on someone and saying, 'are you okay?' and he did."

In a moment of self-reflection prompted by her husband's care, Janette realised she needed to slow down: "And I was really honest with him and said, 'I think I am trying to do too much and I need to say no now'.

"So there was a job that came in, literally that same day, and I was thinking about whether or not to do it, and when I sat back and listened to my body and brain, I thought I'm going to burn myself out and that's not good either."

Janette Manrara has spoken candidly about the moment she realised the necessity of taking a break for her wellbeing, expressing concerns that her constant fatigue could impact her ability to be the best mother to her daughter Lyra.

She explained: "Knowing when you get to that point and you need to say no is important. I don't think I'm Superwoman, I can't do it all if I don't rest. And most importantly, I'm not going to be a good mother to Lyra if I'm overworked and overtired. I already don't sleep with her."

The professional dancer, who got engaged to fellow Strictly pro Aljaz Skorjanec in 2015 and married him two years later, was a mainstay on Strictly Come Dancing until series 19. She then transitioned to presenting duties on the companion show It Takes Two, initially co-hosting with Rylan Clark before teaming up with Fleur East.
