EastEnders fans 'work out' Linda Carter dies at Christmas as characters return to film funeral scenes

Pictures leaked online show characters from the Carter family - including the return of Nancy and Lee - looking devastated at a funeral but the identity of the deceased remains a mystery

Some EastEnders fans are convinced that legendary character Linda Carter will be killed off at Christmas.

This comes after photos of some cast members filming a funeral were leaked as the BBC soap begins filming the festive episodes.

Pictures taken on set and shared online show Maddy Hill and Danny Hatchard reprise their roles as Nancy and Lee Carter, as they join brother Johnny (Charlie Suff) and grandmother Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) outside a church as a coffin is carried inside. Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon Watts, and Tony Clay, who plays Callum Highway, were also spotted in the snaps.

However, there was no sign of actress Kellie Bright on set, sparking fears amongst EastEnders fans that it is possibly Linda's funeral. Plus, Nancy is wearing flamingo earrings, which are a staple of the Queen Vic landlady's wardrobe.

Kellie Bright further fanned the flames of speculation when she posted a selfie of herself holding a pot with the words 'The End' etched into the bottom of it.

EastEnders fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts, with many viewers wondering if Linda will die, two years after losing her beloved husband Mick and one year after murdering Keanu Taylor.

One fan wrote: "Nancy in her flamingo earrings...em this is not looking good. I will not cope if it's Linda dying at Xmas."

Another posted: "Hope it's not what we're predicting," while a third added: "Lee and Nancy coming back and Nancy slapping elaine... shes dying from alcohol/liver failure isnt she."

This wouldn't be the first time a character met their end on Albert Square at Christmas time.

As well as Keanu and Mick passing away in recent years, other Christmas victims in Walford include Archie Mitchell, Jamie Mitchell and Pauline Fowler. Dennis Rickman, Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell and Kevin Wicks have also lost their lives over the festive period.

Of course, there is no official confirmation on whose funeral the cast have been filming scenes for. Some fans have theorised that maybe Mick's body was found so they decide to lay him the rest, while others pointed out that bosses planted staged photos of Danny Walters filming Keanu Taylor scenes last year to throw viewers off the scent that he was going to be murdered at Christmas.

The news comes after Kellie Bright and other members of "The Six", Letitia Dean, Diane Parish (Denise Fox), Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater), Balvinder Sopal (Suki Panesar) and Gillian Taylforth (Kathy Cotton) confirmed there is still more to come in the storyline.
