Prince Harry's unusual hand gesture, likened to a 'karate chop', has been interpreted by a body language expert as a sign of his genuine enthusiasm for his charity work during his solo trip to Africa.

Following a brief visit to the UK, the Duke of Sussex embarked on a trip to Lesotho, where he joined a gathering around a bonfire with his close friend and Sentebale charity co-founder, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. Prince Seeiso affectionately referred to Harry as "my younger brother Mohale, the warrior".

In a video shared by Princess Senate Seeiso, Prince Seeiso's niece, Harry is seen speaking passionately about the charity's mission to support young people with HIV/AIDS. Sitting by the fire, wearing a puffer jacket and dark trousers, Harry discussed how "stigma is being broken down in this country and also in Botswana".

Body language expert Darren Stanton noted that during this conversation, Harry displayed a previously unseen hand gesture. Stanton explained: "When we saw Harry sitting by the bonfire speaking about his charity, you could instantly tell how comfortable he felt speaking about what he's most passionate about. We saw him making a specific hand gesture during his conversation - which we hadn't seen before."

"We saw him do a karate chop movement, which suggests he felt completely in control and nothing could get in the way of that. His levels of confidence were through the roof, and we have never seen him appear to be so certain of himself. Harry has come on from leaps and bounds in terms of believing in himself and his confidence in what he can achieve independently without reassurance.", reports the Irish Mirror.

Harry embarked on a solo trip to the diminutive mountainous nation in southern Africa after a fleeting return to the UK for the WellChild awards on Monday. The Sussex official website headlined the venture "Lesotho Welcomes Harry Home" describing it as a heartfelt reconnection with precious memories from his youth.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, Darren continued: " Prince Harry appeared to be on top form during this visit. He spoke with a number of people, and when he did, he leaned in close towards them, showing signs of active listening and giving them his full attention. On one occasion, he purposely lowered himself, which is significant. This means he wanted to show them he respects them and wants to connect with them on a deeper level."

"Harry was also tactile when conversing in many of his one-on-one conversations. He was seen touching their arms while looking directly into their eyeline, which are both examples of him fully engaging and connecting in that moment. Harry had a natural ease and confidence when meeting and speaking with people he never met before."

Prince Harry, who spent two months in Lesotho during his gap year in 2004, has returned to the country for the first time in five years. His experiences there as a 19 year old inspired him to set up the Sentebale charity, which now also operates in Botswana.

During his previous visit, he met with Aids orphans and other traumatised young people, and visited herd boys living a harsh existence in remote mountain areas.

His last visit was in 2018, the same year he tied the knot with Meghan Markle. The Duke is also scheduled to travel to Johannesburg in South Africa, where he will attend a reception with South Africa-based stakeholders and strategic partner Lebec, a women-led finance and philanthropy firm.
