Brian McFadden is set to open up about his reasons for leaving Westlife with former bandmate Nicky Byrne for the first time.

Fans of the chart-topping boyband were shocked to hear Brian decided to quit back in 2004 at the height of their fame.

Westlife carried on as a four-piece with Nicky, Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily and enjoyed continued success. Brian pursued a solo career before linking up with Boyzone's Keith Duffy to form duo BoyzLife, who will embark on a world tour in 2025.

Now, Brian is set to discuss his dramatic exit from Westlife with Nicky on a public forum for the first time.

Nicky is launching his own podcast series, and in the opening episode, for the first time ever , the two will have an open conversation about Brian's departure and its impact on both their lives and careers.

It’s a real moment fans won’t want to miss, as they will get an inside look into one of the most significant moments in pop history.

Nicky shared a teaser clip of the chat on Instagram, and it looks like the pair become emotional during their chat.

In the video, Nicky asks Brian: "Do you remember what you said to me when I first asked you to come on this show."

Brian begins to laugh as he replies: "Oh, 'This first question is going to be, 'Why the f*** did you leave Westlife'."

Nicky goes on to say: "When did you and I lose that bond do you think? Here's the thing Brian, and I mean this lovingly, you can't bulls*** me."

Brian responds: "I know that because you were there."
