Early reactions to Arcane’s second season have praised the Netflix show as “truly epic” and a step up from the celebrated season one.

Inspired by online battle arena game League Of Legends, Netflix’s Arcane focuses on the backstory of two iconic champions – Vi and Jinx, voiced by Hailee Steinfield and Ella Purnell.

The first season launched in 2021 and later this month, the second and final season will be released.

The first three episodes premiered earlier this week (October 30) at an event in Hollywood with fans and journalists praising the “amazing” start to the series.

Arcane season two act one is truly EPIC,” wrote one critic. “I shed many tears (happy & sad) throughout these three episodes. It is somehow even more gorgeously animated than the first season. The use of music & songs is perfectly timed. There are many moments fans have been waiting for. Just…wow!”

“I watched the first three episodes of Arcane and I cried during all three, in case you were wondering if act one is a masterpiece (it is),” said another. “If you thought season one was epic, buckle up cause this is INSANE,” wrote a third.

The animation had my jaw on the floor, and there were some amazing moments of fan service that had the crowd hooting and hollering. Don’t miss it!”

Netflix is releasing the final season of Arcane in three chapters. The first three episodes will make up act one, which will be released November 9. The following two acts will launch November 16 and 23.

While it might be the end of Arcane, creators have teased more stories set within the League Of Legends universe. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra,” said Christian Linke.

Earlier this week, Ashnikko shared the League Of Legends-inspired music video for her Arcane anthem ‘Paint The Town Blue’. They’ll perform it live this weekend (November 2) at the Worlds Finals, while Linkin Park will also be performing at the event which takes place at London’s O2 Arena. Fans will be able to watch a stream of the opening ceremony and the League Of Legends championship here.
