In this guide, we have a full breakdown of everything you need to know about the season, including when it will release and what to expect from the new maps, weapons, events, and more.

‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ Season 1 release date

The Black Ops 6 Season 1 release date is November 14, 2024. This date was previously leaked as a part of the Little Caesars promotion in the US. But, it was then confirmed by Treyarch on the Call of Duty blog.

‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ Season 1 maps

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1 will introduce six new maps, one of the most stacked lineups for a season yet. These maps include Hideout, Extraction, a remake of Hacienda from Black Ops 4, a Christmas/Holiday variant of Nuketown, and the Face Off Mpas Racket and Heriloom.

Hideout

Hideout is a 6v6 map built in an extensive training site that has target practice spots, obstacle courses, and a lifelike recreation of a vault and a security room to plan for the next mission. High central areas act as a key spot for dominance over the map, while the multi-level combat will require excellent use of omni-movement to surprise your enemies.

Season 1 will also introduce a set of seasonal challenges and events to complete and play during Season 1.

Extraction

Extraction is one of the larger maps in the game, set in a large building complex. With a downed helicopter that is out in the open, a large warehouse with long sightlines, and a departure area and set of offices that offer more close quarters action, Extraction is a playground for a variety of weapons, whether you like to play up close or pick off people from afar.

Heriloom

Heirloom can be played in 2v2 or 6v6 modes and is a tight, close-quarters map set inside a museum that is currently holding an exhibition. The map is fairly simple with a core central area and two areas on each side of the map that allow for some flanking opportunities and escape.

Hacienda

Hacienda is coming as a part of the mid-season update. This is a remake of one of the better Black Ops 4 maps and looks almost identical. With an open courtyard and central area inside the main building, you can keep at a distance or patrol the building’s showroom and garden to lurk and surprise your enemies with the new omnimovement.

Racket

Racket is another Face Off 2v2 or 6v6 map, this time coming during the mid-season update. Set inside a small underground bank vault, always be alert, as anyone can come around a corner and catch you off guard thanks to its short sightlines and condensed rooms.

Nuketown Holiday

Finally, in Season 1, we have Nuketown Holiday, a snow-covered version of the fan-favourite map arriving during a mid-season update, presumably around the middle of December. The map will play identically, but you can get into the festive spirit with a bunch of Christmas decorations and even a snowman or two.

‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ Season 1 modes and updates

Season 1 will add a number of new modes to Black Ops 6, the first being Ransack. This is a brand new mode that sees you looting gold bars from crates around a map and depositing them back in your team’s stash. However, this 6v6 mode allows the other team to steal your bars and put them in their own stash.

Therefore, the mode will require a good mix of defensive and offensive strategies to be able to win. The mode is coming with Season 1’s launch on November 14, 2024.

The next mode is coming mid-season and it is a fan favourite: Prop Hunt. Yes, the beloved mod that originated in older Call of Duty games is getting an official mode again this year, and it is bound to induce laughter, frustration, and some hilarious clips and videos on social media.

‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ Season 1 weapons, perks, attachments, scorestreaks, and more

Season 1 is surprisingly adding a lot of new content and unlocks for your loadout. These include several new perks, a Wildcard, a new Scorestreak, and more.

To kick things off, throughout Season 1, two perks will be added. The first is Shadow, which is a Strategist perk in the perk 2 slot. With it equipped, you are undetectable by enemy mines and traps, such as the Spring Mine and Blast Trap. The second is Shrapnel Radar, a perk 3 slot perk in the Recon category. With this equipped, dealing any kind of blast damage will reveal the enemies you hit on your minimap. This includes enemies affected by area-of-effect equipment and Field Upgrades such as the Molotov and Neurogas.

The new Scorestreak being added is the Hand Cannon, last seen in Black Ops Cold War. Costing 900 score, this powerful weapon has a slow rate of fire and limited ammo, but can one hit enemies anywhere on the body and through walls.

The Wildcard arriving in the midseason update is High Roller, which allows you to equip a fourth scorestreak during multiplayer matches. Season 1 will also introduce a set of seasonal challenges and events to complete and play during Season 1.

As with each season, we will also have a bunch of new weapons – 7 to be exact. The first is the Krig C which is an assault rifle with 30 bullets in the Magazine. It will be available as the HVT tier reward on page 3 of the battle pass, with a blueprint on page 14. It is described as a versatile, hard hitting AR that performs well at multiple ranges.

Next up we have the Saug, also available on Page 3 of the battle pass as a HVT reward, with a blueprint on Page 11. This SMG has high mobility and good handlign with a solid rate of fire. However, it’s recoil will need to be managed to succeed with it.

The Maelstrom will arrive mid-season as a part of an event and is a fully automatic shotgun with good range and handling but a large hip-fire spread. It has 10 shots in the magazine.

Also included in a mid-season event is the AMR Mod 4, a high-power sniper rifle that is a one shot kill to the torso, arms, hands, and upper legs. While it is highly powerful, it is slow and bulky requiring a lot of precision to use well.

The Sirin 9mm is one of the strangest looking weapons we have seen in a while. It will arrive in the season as a part of an event and offers SMG characteristics as a secondary weapon with a slow rate of fire. This will be a new “Specialty” weapon in the category of the same name for your secondary slot once added to the game.

The sixth weapon this season is the Power Drill, a new melee weapon with short range and fast attacks. However, it takes two hits to kill people with it, which might make it hard to use in core modes. It will be available in a mid-season event.

Finally, we have the Cleaver, another melee weapon unlocked as a part of a mid-season event. This is your standard melee weapon alternative with a medium attack speed and a one-hit kill.

On these weapons and all the other weapons in the game, you will also be able to choose from four different attachments that are brand new to the game. These include the 12 Gauge Dragon’s Breath for shotguns. Available at launch, this will equip Dragon’s Breath Fire pellets to your shotgun.

Arriving in-season is the Buffer Weight Stock for the XM4, XMG, and DM-10. This improves the weapon’s recoil at the cost of some movement and ADS speed. The Burst Fire conversion will also arrive for the XM4 in-season and turns the weapon into a three-round burst AR.

Finally, we also have the Burst Fire conversion for the Komapt 92 SMG.

‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ Season 1 Zombies map

Season 1 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce a third round-based Zombies map for the game this year, within the mid-season updates. Citadelle des Morts takes Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey to an abandoned castle in the heart of Europe after the events of the Terminus main story quest.

The map is described as a “citadel of the dead” that offers up horrors and a medieval village. There is bound to be a host of easter eggs, a new main quest, and more for players to experience. To be honest, the map is giving us Der Eisendrach vibes.

In addition to the new map, at launch players will be able to experience the “Directed Mode” for Terminus and Liberty Falls. These are guided versions of the main quests for the map that disables all optional easter eggs and S.A.M. Trials to ensure players can complete the objectives, which are marked. Additionally, the mode has a round cap of 15.

‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ Season 1 Zombies content

One surprising addition with Season 1 is a number of new Zombies loadout content, including a new Perk-A-Colda, a additional Field Upgrade, an addition Ammo Mod, 18 new Augments from these, three new Gobblegums, multiple new Wonder Weapons, a brand new enemy type found in Citadelle Des Morts, and the Hand Cannon scorestreak.
