God of War: Ragnarok Mod removes the PSN account requirement

by · DSOGaming

Well, this was bound to happen. In just a matter of days, a mod surfaced for God of War: Ragnarok that removes its PSN account requirement.

For those unaware, God of War: Ragnarok requires a PSN account. This is a bummer as this is a single-player title. And, to the surprise of no one, the game is fully functional without one.

So, what does this mod do? Well, it fully strips the PlayStation PC SDK runtime requirement for God of War Ragnarok. As such, it will allow everyone to play and enjoy it.

All you have to do is download the mod from here, copy the version.dll and PsPcSdk.dll to the game folder, and then launch the game. And that is.

What’s funny here is that due to this PSN account requirement, Sony has blocked the game in a lot of countries. Not only that but the game has already been cracked. So, I have to ask again. What was the point of it? Was it so that it could push some PC gamers towards piracy? Because right now, without this mod, the pirated version is more user-friendly than the Steam version.

Ironically, Sony may start implementing Denuvo in its PC releases. I mean, that’s the best way to protect its games and reinforce the PSN account requirement. It sucks and it’s anti-consumer. But, that’s where things may be heading.

Anyway, a couple of days ago, Jetpack Interactive released a new update for God of War: Ragnarok. That patch fixed the DLSS 3 Frame Generation issues we had. I’ve tried the latest version of GoW: Ragnarok and DLSS 3 FG works now on our NVIDIA RTX 4090. Performance also seemed to be on par with AMD FSR 3.1 FG.

God of War: Ragnarok is a really polished game on PC. This game can run smoothly on a wide range of PC configurations. So, kudos to Jetpack Interactive.

Have fun!
