Threads of Time is a new 2.5D JRPG, inspired by Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy

Now here is something really cool. Humble Games announced earlier today a new 2.5D turn-based JRPG that is heavily inspired by Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy, called Threads of Time. This new JRPG looks lovely, and you can find its debut trailer below.

In this game, players will weave together powerful attacks in visually dynamic, strategic turn-based battles. Players will bend time to their will, unravel enemies’ defenses, and unleash their party’s full potential through devastating team combos.

According to the devs, players will be able to recruit unique characters from different eras. Thus, they will unite heroes from across epochs to defend the timeline from impending chaos and corruption.

Threads of Time will be using Unreal Engine 5, and it will have hand-crafted 2D characters. Seriously, this looks amazing. So, make sure to watch the trailer.

There is currently no ETA on when the game will come out. My guess is that we might get it sometime in 2025. However, it may even slip into 2026.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
