Anya Taylor-Joy subjected to terrifying burglary at London mansion

Anya Taylor-Joy and her rock star husband were subjected to a terrifying robbery after masked raiders forced their way into a London mansion, it can be revealed.

The Hollywood actress and her musician partner Malcolm McRae had been staying in the capital along with his bandmate Kane Richotte when a gang of robbers burst in.

Two alleged robbers even attempted to get into the bedroom where Taylor-Joy and McRae were staying, The Standard reports.

One of the two suspects has been named as Kirk Holdrick, who was seen in 2022 on a string of dates with The Only Way Is Essex star Hannah Voyan, and is currently being held on remand.

He has pleaded not guilty to burglary in relation to the incident which took place on February 12, 2023, and can now be reported for the first time after a judge lifted restrictions on journalists covering the case.

The incident took place a week before the actress appeared on the red carpet at the BAFTA Film Awards in the capital.

At the time the actress had been staying a property in north London with McRae and Richotte, who perform together in the rock band more*.

The mansion in question is not owned by the couple, but by another well-known public figure whose name cannot be revealed for legal reasons, it is reported.

The trio are believed to have been left shaken by the incident, although none of them were physically hurt. 

Holdrick, who is reportedly being held at Gartree Prison in Leicestershire, is set to face a four-day trial over the incident at Wood Green Crown Court in London on September 29 next year.

The defendant, who is believed to deny any involvement in the incident, had reportedly dated TOWIE star Hannah Voyan on and off for around a year in 2022, with the couple seen holding hands leaving a restaurant in London.

Judge Kalyani Kaul KC allowed for reporting restrictions on naming the victims in the case to be published after a legal challenge by The Standard.

Taylor-Joy, who was born in the United States, has become one of Hollywood's most popular stars in recent years after getting her break in small budget horror film The Witch in 2015.

The following year she starred in M. Night Shyamalan thriller Split alongside James McAvoy.

Since then she has starred in hits such as animated film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, sci-fi blockbuster Dune: Part Two and the Mad Max prequel Furiosa.

The actress has also appeared on TV with her credits including the supremely popular BBC show Peaky Blinders and The Queen's Gambit on Netflix.

Taylor-Joy and McRae began their relationship in 2021, before eloping on April Fools day the following year to have a private wedding ceremony in New Orleans.

They held a second lavish ceremony in September 2023 in Venice, Italy, attended by guests including Cara Delevingne and Julia Garner.

Rock star McRae performs in the band more* with Richotte, with the pair also trying their hand at acting after appearing in Prime Video series Daisy Jones and the Six.
