BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent is missing from her morning show once again - and fans have spotted her on a different programme.

During the corporation's Tuesday broadcast, the presenter, 53, was noticeably missing from her usual spot on the sofa.

Instead, they were treated to another appearance by Sarah Campbell, who also presented on Monday's episode.

Sally hasn't disappeared from the airwaves completely - and instead was spotted presenting the lunchtime news at 1pm.

Nonetheless her absence didn't go unnoticed, with viewers have flocking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their discontent and beg for her return.

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty is notably missing for second day as she's replaced by Nina Warhurst

'@sallynugent iyah la. Can you come back to work tomorrow, please? Got a hangover here, and that pair of fools on the couch aren't helping. Was expecting you'd be there. Please be back soon'

MailOnline contacted the BBC for comment.

Sally's absence comes just days after Naga Munchetty was notably missing from the programme for the second day in a row on Saturday.

The presenter, 49, who usually hosts alongside Charlie Stayt, 62, from Thursday through to Saturday, was replaced by Nina Warhurst again.

Nina has already stepped in twice within two weeks to cover Sally Nugent earlier this month as well as appearing on Friday's show.

Stepping in, she and Charlie discussed the passing of Dame Maggie Smith and various other news.

It is unclear why Naga is missing from BBC Breakfast, but the programme often undergoes hosting shake-ups.

Thursday's instalment saw an awkward clash between replacement host Nina and Charlie.

Leading up to the bizarre live TV moment, the pair watched a segment about Oasis and how they recorded their first studio album at Sawmills Studio on the River Fowey in Cornwall.

The duo had high praise for the stunning building, with Nina quipping: 'Oh to be a fly on the wall in that building! It would have been amazing.

Charlie added: 'Very beautiful location.'

Before Nina jumped in again with: 'It is stunning, isn't it? Shall we go and record an album there Charlie?'

Taken aback, the BBC regular responded: 'No. I don't think so,' before Nina burst into laughter and the camera cut to local news.

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One from 6am.
