A mother-of-two who beat cancer was found dead in bed by her 16-year-old daughter, her heartbroken family has said.

Sarah Thompson, 34, had been looking forward to going to a concert and bought a new outfit before her sudden death during the night.

She had previously overcome cancer in her voice box which left her mute for eight months but was described as 'full of life' by friends.

However, she was tragically found by her teenage Paige last weekend and her devastated family have been left planning her funeral.

The cause of death for Ms Thompson, who is from Connah's Quay, North Wales, has not been revealed.

The mother-of-two had previously beaten cancer and had been looking forward to going out

Her mother Gail said: 'She was really popular and had a huge group of friends. We have had people lay lots of flowers outside the house, which shows how many people she knew.

'She absolutely loved going to concerts. There was time when I picked her up from a festival and she was there with four people she knew saying they needed a lift as well, she was always trying to help people out.

'She was due to go to one at the O2 Academy in Liverpool on Tuesday. She'd bought a new outfit for it especially.

'Sarah was a very bright woman, outgoing and bubbly. She was really generous, always lending people money when they needed it.'

Ms Thompson was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and left unable to speak following the surgery.

Gail said: 'She really struggled, but despite all she went through she remained the best mum to Paige and Zaine. She idolised them, and absolutely lived for them.'

The cause of Ms Thompson's death has not been revealed but it has left her family heart

'It's just such a huge shock. We can't comprehend it, it doesn't feel real. There is a GoFundMe page which we hope will fund her funeral, and any spare money will be left for her two kids.'

Friends Rebecca Burdis, who set up the fundraiser, said: 'Sarah sadly and unexpectedly passed away on the evening of Saturday 28th September way before her time.

'She leaves behind her children Paige (16) and Zaine (10).

'As we know Sarah's children were her world and this sudden tragedy has left a massive hole in their lives.'

More than £3,000 has been raised ahead of her funeral next week where mourners are encouraged to wear bright colours.
