Hilarious moment one father walks down the aisle without the bride

This is the hilarious moment that one father made his way down the aisle - but forgot to take the bride with him.

Neil Crossley, 60, from Barnsley in south Yorkshire, was preparing himself for a once in a life time moment, when he all but forgot the most important part of his job - his daughter, the bride.

The moment, which was caught on video, sprung from a brief second of confusion and miscommunication in which Neil thought he'd been given the green light to start walking towards the altar.

But as the father of Amy Totty, 30, began confidently strolling towards the altar amid the dulcet tones of the wedding prelude, Neil quickly realised his lapse in judgement.

A blushing staff member at the venue was spotting down the aisle to attract the attention of Neil, who was oblivious to the empty space next to him.

But as the father of Amy Totty, 30, began confidently strolling towards the groom amid the dulcet tones of the wedding prelude, he quickly realised his lapse in judgement

Neil had nearly reached the end of the altar before he turned in surprise to realise Amy was still waiting for him.

The bride was in a fit of giggles by the time her father, oblivious to the blunder, realised his error.

The slip up got everyone laughing and even became a feature in Neil's speech later on at the reception.

Afterwards, Neil and Amy went for a second go at walking down the aisle - finally managing to do it together.

The father and daughter managed to get it right on the second go and after the brief moment of comic relief, the groom was flooded with tears as a smiling Amy walked towards him.

Amy, who works as a nurse, said: 'It was just pure miscommunication between my dad and the staff.

'He thought they told him to walk when they had actually said wait for me!' she said remembering the moment fondly.
