James Van Der Beek's second wife Kimberly shared a touching message of support to him on Sunday mere hours after he went public with his colorectal cancer battle.

The 42-year-old 'medical intuitive' Instastoried How Things Work's post about Northern cardinals being romantic because they 'mate for life, travel together, sing before nesting, and feed each other seed beak-to-beak during courtship.'

Kimberly captioned her message with a rose emoji and wrote: 'Hi baby @vanderjames!'

The 47-year-old Dawson's Creek alum originally met Van Der Beek (born Brook) in Israel back in 2009, and they celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary on August 1.

'14 years… I always say it doesn't feel like that long. You always say it does,' James - who boasts 3M social media followers - gushed at the time.

BREAKING NEWS
Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek, 47, reveals colorectal cancer diagnosis

'Nothing could have prepared us for this past year - except perhaps the previous 12. Thank you for being the most incredible partner. You’ve broken me open in spots I didn't even know were locked, and taught me how to receive more love than I thought possible.

'In the past, I feel like you've always set the pace for our co-evolution, but this year, as I've gone through my own radical transformation, you've tirelessly put in the work and somehow managed to match it. Thank you for your courage, your strength, your vulnerability and your tenderness. I'm thrilled and grateful to get to do this life with you. And now… let's have a laugh. I love you beyond. Happy anniversary. Thank you for being in the world.'

The Van Der Beeks just celebrated Halloween on their 36-acre Texas ranch with their six children - daughter Olivia, 14; son Joshua, 12; daughter Annabel, 10; daughter Emilia, 8; daughter Gwendolyn, 6; and son Jeremiah, 3.

Earlier on Sunday, the Connecticut-born blond confirmed to People: 'I have colorectal cancer. I've been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family. There's reason for optimism, and I'm feeling good.'

It's unclear what stage of colorectal cancer James has, but it reportedly starts in the colon or the rectum for one in 23 men on average with 65% surviving past five years.

Van Der Beek will strip down to raise awareness for colorectal cancer in Anthony Anderson's two-hour special The Real Full Monty, which airs December 9 on Fox.

Actors Taye Diggs and Tyler Posey as well as Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones and Dancing with the Stars judge Bruno Tonioli will also appear in the special inspired by Peter Cattaneo's 1997 hit film The Full Monty.

Acting-wise, the Walker guest star - who commands $300 on Cameo - will next portray Drayton Lahey's (Noah Beck) father in Justin Wu's high school romance Sidelined: The QB and Me, which premieres November 29 on Tubi.
