Inside pregnant Princess Beatrice's 'normal' life with husband Edoardo

by · Mail Online

Princess Beatrice is expecting her second child with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi - but it won't be constant fancy dinners and ballroom dances in palaces for their expanding family.

Instead, the late Queen's granddaughter, 36, and her Italian property developer partner, 40, enjoy a more 'normal' life than some of their royal relatives.

Indeed, the royal, who is already mother to the couple's three-year-old daughter Sienna, and stepmother to eight-year-old Wolfie, Mr Mapelli Mozzi's son with his ex-fiancée, architect Dara Huang, is often spotted delighting in everyday activities.

In August, the King's niece looked in great spirits as she strolled around the streets of Mayfair with her husband of four years, after nipping to Marks & Spencer for a healthy food shop of vine tomatoes and leafy greens.

Beatrice - who is the daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew - further proved she's one of the Firm's most relatable royals after spending her summer attending Glastonbury's music festival and BST Hyde Park to watch Kings Of Leon perform.

But while the royal - who is Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at Afiniti - enjoys her downtime, she is also known to be a hands-on mother to Sienna, and has become close to her stepson Wolfie.

For her third birthday, Sienna had a unicorn-themed party - complete with a cake from Tesco, according to her grandmother, the Duchess of York.

Sarah Ferguson, 64, who lives in Royal Lodge in Windsor, explained how her eldest daughter Beatrice turned to the popular British supermarket for the little girl's cake.

In an interview with Hello!, Fergie said that Beatrice and her husband also hosted Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank and their two sons August and Ernest.

Prince Andrew's ex-wife said: 'We had such a good time, with balloons and a fabulous unicorn cake from Tesco.'

The Duchess also revealed that her daughter was especially happy with the present she bought Sienna.

Sarah added: 'I also gave her a pink mackintosh with glitter in it and I think mum was thrilled with that!'

Beatrice and Edo, who are not working royals, are raising their daughter to be a private citizen and have never shared a photo of Sienna's face.

Unlike her sister Princess Eugenie, Beatrice doesn't have social media - but did allow her sibling to post a picture of Sienna at London Zoo with her cousins in April 2023

Unlike her sister Princess Eugenie, Beatrice doesn't have social media - but did allow her sibling to post a picture of Sienna at London Zoo with her cousins in April 2023.

Last year, Edo marked Sienna's second birthday by sharing a photo of her wearing a sombrero. The birthday girl was pictured wearing a floral dress and walking away from the camera.

The proud father wrote at the time: 'Happy Birthday Baby Girl. You bring us so much love and joy every day.'

Earlier this year, one of Beatrice's friends told Tatler: 'Sienna is absolutely gorgeous and looks exactly like Bea. She's really cheeky and has a very good personality.'

Praising her parenting, the friend added: 'Bea has such a good heart and she's such a kind person, so motherhood came very naturally to her; she's a fantastic mum'.

Meanwhile, in 2020, sources claimed that 'doting stepmother' Beatrice put up 'loads of pictures' of husband Edoardo's son in their home so he 'feels like he has two families'.

Speaking about the royal embracing her role, insiders told The Telegraph's Camilla Tominey: 'Beatrice ensured there are loads of pictures of him up in their house, so he feels like he has two families, and they do get on well.'

Friends of the royal said she talks about the youngster 'all the time' and warmly embraced him into her life.

Alongside the statement, Beatrice shared a picture of Edo, Sienna and Wolfie walking in the woods

Wolfie has previously been kept out of the public eye, but proudly walked arm-in-arm with his stepmother and father as he joined the King and Queen on their walk to church at Sandringham on Christmas Day 2022.

Then in 2023, he made his first appearance at a royal engagement at the Princess of Wales' Westminister Abbey carol concert.

Beatrice and Edo have been married for four years after tying the knot in 2020 at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

The pair have been living in St James's Palace while their £3.5million house in the Cotswolds is being renovated.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, the mother of Beatrice's stepson said she is glad her son Wolfie has 'two sets of parents trying to help him' navigate his childhood.

Dara Huang, 41, who was in a relationship with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi between 2015 and 2018, shares eight-year-old Wolfie with her ex, who is now married to Princess Beatrice.

The architect, who is from Florida but lives in Chelsea, said she is glad her son has 'two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides'.

She told Harper's Bazaar: 'Wolfie has had two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides, and I just think, "The more, the merrier."

'I feel lucky to have such positive people around him, who really embrace him – because it didn’t have to be so easy.'

Dara added: 'It's all about your point of view. I don't understand people who are divorced and then hold their children as collateral; that doesn’t make any sense.  It's about creating a happy home and lifestyle.'

When the couple announced Sienna's name in October 2021, Edoardo shared a print of their daughter's feet along with her full name

Beatrice and her husband Edoardo are preparing to welcome a new addition to their family in early spring.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: 'Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.

'His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.'

Two new pictures from the family were shared to mark the announcement, with one showing blonde-haired Sienna from behind as she walks along a country lane, holding hands in the middle of her father and big brother Wolfie.

The youngster, with a red bow in her hair, is kitted out in bright yellow wellies and an all-in-one blue waterproof puddlesuit decorated with cloud and bird motifs.

In another picture, an overjoyed Beatrice - wearing a black puffer jacket - smiles at the camera, while being embraced by Mr Mapelli Mozzi, who is gazing at his wife.

The grandchild will be a great niece or nephew to the King, and a second cousin of Prince George, Louis and Princess Charlotte.

He or she will also be Prince Andrew's fourth grandchild, as Princess Eugenie has two children, August and Ernest Brooksbank.

The baby, who will not be an HRH, will be born 11th in line to the throne, with Beatrice's younger sister Princess Eugenie moving down to 12th place.
