Thousands of Britons are lured to the sands of Benidorm each year, seeking sun-kissed relaxation and cheap drinks. However, a Benidorm local has recently sounded an alarm for holidaymakers regarding a notorious scam hotspot.

Party planner Frank, known on TikTok as @frankthestagman, took his followers on a cautionary tour of this infamous area. Driving past landmarks such as the indoor market and Mariano's restaurant, he approached the area opposite the Flash Hotel.

He pointed out a little police building beside a playground and stated: "Just before we hit the strip, there's a little police building. I'm going to show you here with a little playground next to it."

Here, Frank highlighted the irony that this place, particularly adjacent to the tiny children's play area, is where many tourists become pickpocketing targets. His partner added: "Ironically, it's also where they tell you, if you have an incident as an English person, such as a robbery, you have to go and report it there."

They described the corner near the playground as a "hotspot" for muggings, even though it is situated at the heart of Benidorm’s bustling area, reports the Daily Record. Frank, who typically showcases the best of sunny Benidorm, promoting the local hotels, parties and providing weather updates to potential visitors, also takes his duty to provide travel advice seriously. With his posts, he hopes to educate tourists about the risks and the need to stay vigilant to fully enjoy their holidays without unwelcome incidents.

Since the video was posted, it has garnered hundreds of views and sparked immediate responses from viewers. Some shared their own unfortunate encounters with crime in the same area.

One person recalled: "Got mugged there two weeks ago - watch, phone and wallet. Police found my wallet the day after, but bank cards gone. Just hotel key and driving licence left." Another recounted their misfortune, stating: "I had my travel wallet stolen as I helped my mum get off the coach. Only just arrived. Lost all my money, passport, tickets. There was a queue of people all in the police station - all been pickpocketed."

However, a third offered a different viewpoint, commenting: "It really scares me, but I came out as a solo female and have zero issues. Was also in your bar. Lovely place - I will be back.
