Amazon has dropped £45 off a 'very useful' heated airer that was one woman's 'best friend during winter'. Shoppers said the Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer had 'loads of drying space' and 'saved money long-term'.

The Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer usually retails at £155 but Amazon was currently offering a 29 per cent discount. The airer, which has been purchased more than 3,000 times in the last month, now costs £109.99. There's also an option to purchase the airer with wheels and a cover for £165.34.

According to the product description on Amazon, the Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer holds up to 15kg of washing on 21m of drying space. It arrives assembled, with customers instructed to "simply fold out, plug in and switch on" to use.

Amazon said the Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer was "ideal for winter months" and costed "an average of just 8.4p per hour" to run. When not in use, the "space-saving design" allowed it to be stowed away to ensure "living space remains clutter-free".

Luke gave the Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer four-stars and said it was "very useful" and "saves money long-term". He said: "This isn't cheap, so I had to crunch the numbers. At the moment, on the electricity rate I'm on, this works out at 9.27p per hour. Less than half the price of running one radiator, and when we turn the heating on, three come on. So it's actually 6x cheaper for me. With the money I save from using this as opposed to turning the central heating on, it will take me 50 hours of run time to pay itself off."

Kazia said the Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer had "loads of drying space" and added: "At first it seems very flimsy and not sturdy but once loaded, it is fine. Big enough for one large 9kg load. Longer items need to be folded in half and rejigged at times. Drying is great."

Awarding the Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer four-stars, Mark wrote: "Does the job quite well, -1 star because it is a bit wobbly and because there is no thermometer or settings so it can get pretty warm. My last cheap one left kind of scorch marks on some clothes so I started running it on a smart plug that turns it off every half hour for 10 mins. I still use that for this but it may not be necessary, I'd rather not take any chances."

Tony said he was "very pleased" with the Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer but said: "The only thing I don't like is the position of the on/off switch." Cat wrote: "Like how quickly it heats up and dries clothes." Anne said it was her "best friend during winter", adding: "We don't have room to have a machine dryer, so this was the alternative, which is really nice and helps to get your clothes dry quickly and avoids smells for long drying time. I would recommend it as it really accelerates the drying time!"

Pamela gave the Black and Decker 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer two stars and said: "This product just isn’t worth the money, so disappointed. Had it on all day and the clothes still weren’t dry. The only way to help dry clothes, is lay them flat, which vastly limits the quantity of clothes. If I hadn’t dumped the wrapping, I’d send it back."
