American tries UK McDonald's for first time and says these items 'better'

TikTok foodie @ajslambino ordered as much as possible to find the differences between the UK and US menus

An American has sampled a range of UK McDonald's dishes - and there's one he'd like to take back home with him.

The particular item isn't available in US outlets, reveals TikTok food enthusiast @ajslambino. He was amazed by some of the limited-edition menu items on offer in the UK, while others left him feeling disgusted.

Ordering anything he couldn't get in the US, the food lover was ready to taste the rich tomato dip, a double barbecue quarter pounder with cheese, and something he had never encountered before.

These items were the "garlic cheese bites," with a share box full of treats seen in the video. The food haul also included a Galaxy ice cream and a small portion of chips.

Regarding the rich tomato dip, he said: "It doesn't smell like ketchup so I don't know what it is. It came with the cheesy bites so I'm thinking it's tomato sauce.", reports the Mirror.

After tasting the dip and cheesy bite, the American was thrilled with the flavour and exclaimed: "Oh my God, why don't we have these in America? They're amazing."

He was less enthusiastic about the fries, which "tasted like fries," and didn't provoke much more than a nonchalant shrug. However, the mayo chicken burger seemed to be a familiar item on the US menu.

"We just call it a chicken sandwich," he stated, drawing a closer link between the US and UK McDonald's menus, until he tried the double barbecue quarter pounder with cheese. Delighted by this premium menu item, @ajslambino commented: "The barbecue adds a little kick to it."

His verdict on the dessert was nothing short of impressed, leading him to urge the American brand to take a leaf out of the UK's book.

"We got to get on this s*** here," he exclaimed. The TikTok comments echoed his sentiments about the UK McDonald's offerings.

One user stated: "I've just traveled across America and I can honestly say UK Maccies s***s all over US Maccies."

The conversation also turned to the chicken sandwiches, with some noting that UK customers get a "budget" version. A comment pointed out: "Mayo chicken is a budget chicken sandwich but it at least give us options."

Meanwhile, another added: "Chicken mayo is the 'snack/cheap' menu version of the McChicken sandwich, which we also have [SIC]."
