Aldi rolls out big change to chocolate aisle which shoppers have 'just spotted'
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveAldi has rolled out a big change to its chocolate bars. Aldi, which is rivalled by Lidl, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and more, has made a huge change to some of its classic chocolate bars which are styled to look like the likes of Mars, Snickers and more.
Aldi's popular bars - like Romeo and Racer - have all been blitzed into a sachet of hot chocolate powder. After clocking the shake up to the chocolate bar aisle, a shopper gushed on Facebook: "New hot chocolate sachets spotted at Aldi UK."
One said: "A coconut hot choc! I’ve just tried there bars of this chocolate and love them, think I'll like these too." Another commented: "These Aldi own brand hot chocolates sound nice. I need to try some soon!" A third added: "I’m guessing Romeo is gonna taste like Bounty and Racer is gonna taste like Snickers?"

A fourth typed: "Ohh yummy! Give us a mug of Jive!" Another said: "Bet the coconut ones are banging. Add some instant coffee and you’ve got a coconut mocha!" Another typed: "Nothing screams labour voter more than getting exited of drinking 80g of sugar in one go."
Aldi has sold its own version of Bountys for a while now, named Romeo bars. Each bar has a creamy coconut filling and is encased in a milk chocolate coating. A pack of four 50g twin-bars costs £1.19, or just 30p per 100g. Aldi is known for its bargain chocolate bar dupes, offering cheaper version of big name brands including Cadbury, Kinder and M&Ms.
The chain was recently named the winner of a taste test of Milkyway bar dupes. One shoppers wrote: "They need to sell a dark chocolate version as Mars have ditched theirs." And a second said: "They should do a dark chocolate one to put the boot properly into Bounty for discontinuing theirs."
