Jet2 issues urgent travel alert as it warns UK passengers 'delays are likely'
by Annabal Bagdi, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/annabal-bagdi/ · Birmingham LiveJet2 has issued a warning to passengers flying out of a UK airport that they could be hit with delays - and it is expected to last weeks. Tourists leaving the UK from East Midlands Airport need to 'allow enough time' for travel.
It comes as road works near the airport are anticipated to last until December. One lane of the M1 will be permanently shut, with a speed restriction in place.
There will also be 'sporadic' overnight closures of one slip road and diversions brought in, the airline said. Jet2 said its flights are due to operate as scheduled so passengers should make sure they get to the airport in time.
