Halifax warning after man has money 'taken from account' and can't get it back

The high street bank has responded to angry reports from a social media user this week, as we head deeper into winter towards Christmas.
Twitter/X user Leon fumed: "@HalifaxBank why is nobody responding on the app chat sent a message for help 2 hours ago not had a reply back - Had some scamming company take money out me account I need help in getting it back ASAP its for my gas."
Halifax replied: "Hi Leon, I’m Roy. Sorry for the issue you are having. Chat can be busy in the evenings and overnight. They will respond as soon as possible. Once they respond they will be able to help. Please make sure that you've provided as much info as you can to help them answer efficiently."

"Not a reply back though... can a pending transaction be stopped and refunded same time its a scam that taken the payment," Leon said. Halifax typed: "Once a transaction is pending on your account, we cannot cancel it. If you believe you've been scammed, you can raise a dispute once it has debited the account.
"You'll need to request a refund with the company in the first instance. ^Laura" Leon said: "The company a scam PYD I http://help.co.uk I Google it too comes up as a company taking money out of people's account" Halifax replied: "As we are unable to access account information through this channel, please send us a secure message via the 'support' tab in the app and one of my colleagues can certainly look into this for you. ^Donna."
Halifax states on its website: "You need to tell us if money has been taken from your account or you’re worried a payment you’ve made is fraudulent." Or, if someone knows or has asked you for your Online Banking password or memorable information, has used your Online Banking account without your approval or has made you move their money into your account.
