200,000 drivers urged to 'find new route' starting from tomorrow

Drivers have been told to brace for travel carnage as a motorway used by 200,000 motorists closes TOMORROW. The M25 clockwise exit slip at junction 28 will be closed for two weekends from 11pm Friday 8 November to 5am Monday 11 November and again at 11pm Friday 15 November to 5am Monday 18 November.

National Highways England said in a statement: "The closures will be the next in a series of weekend closures needed, with more dates to be announced, to build the base for a new overhead gantry that will span the width of the M25.

"Over the next two weekends, we will be pouring the concrete foundations needed to support the gantry." On the M25 clockwise there will be several exit slip road closures taking place on Friday evening, including Junction 24 (8pm to 6am for scheme works), Junction 25 (11pm to 6am for CCTV camera installation), Junction 27 (11pm to 6am for surfacing work) and Junction 28 (11pm to 5am).

More information on road closures can be found on the National Highways website. On Friday, the M25 clockwise closure from junction 13 to the A30 southbound Glanty Loop entry slip road in Staines. Closure in place from 11pm until 5am the following morning.

On the A3 southbound carriageway closure between Berelands and the A3M junction 2. Closure in place from 9pm and 6am the following morning, National Highways has also confirmed. The agency has also said the A3 southbound carriageway will see a closure at the Stoke exit slip road.

The closure is from 9pm until 6am the following morning.
