First-time weekly unemployment filers increase by 3,000
by Clyde Hughes · UPINov. 7 (UPI) -- The number of people filing for unemployment benefits for the first time last week increased modestly by 3,000 from the previous week, which saw its lowest weekly total in months, the Labor Department said Thursday.
The seasonally adjusted total of initial filers, 221,000 for the week ending Nov. 2 increased from the previous revised total of 218,000.
