ACE 2024: Brand new MG5 from RM86,900 – largest B-segment sedan with 7-year powertrain warranty

Car shoppers, make sure you’re at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) over the October 26-27 weekend, because the paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2024, co-sponsored by Carro, is set to offer fantastic deals to satiate every purse, person and purpose.

Besides the MG ZS and MG4 EVs, at MG’s booth you’ll see the recently-launched MG5 – the largest B-segment sedan in Malaysia is 4,675 mm long and 1,842 mm wide, with 2,680 mm between the front and rear wheels. With striking looks courtesy of its wide 3D grille, flowing swage lines and fastback silhouette, the MG5 has a 114 PS/150 Nm 1.5 litre petrol engine and a eight-virtual ratio CVT – a powertrain that’s done 2.35 million kilometres of durability testing.

Owners will enjoy a power sunroof, a seven-inch LCD virtual cockpit, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, cruise control, a 360 camera and a powered driver’s seat, amongst others. Safety is taken care of by six airbags and the MG Pilot suite, which contains lane departure warning, lane change assist, blind spot detection, rear collision warning and rear cross traffic alert.

The RRP for MG’s first ICE model in Malaysia has been brought down to RM86,900 via a RM7k introductory rebate, so now’s the time to strike. Vehicle warranty is five years with unlimited mileage; for the engine and gearbox it’s seven years, also with unlimited mileage. Dynamic Red, Arctic White, Black Pearl, Camden Grey and Nuclear Yellow body colours are available.

Toyota, Proton, Perodua, Ford, BYD, Volkswagen and Mitsubishi will also be at ACE 2024, together with smart and eMas brands under the care of Pro-Net.

Also there will be BMW/MINI (through Auto Bavaria), Mercedes-Benz (through Hap Seng Star) and Volvo (through Sime Darby Swedish Auto). Multi-brand dealership EON will represent smart and Audi while Cycle & Carriage will bring the Peugeot and Leapmotor brands. Two-wheelers from BMW Motorrad will be present, as will Trapo with its Exosystem range of products.
