NatWest wants to give people £180 each in free cash

NatWest said it wants to give people £180 each in free cash, if they meet certain criteria. The banking giant is urging people to open one of its Reward accounts, and doing so could see them given a financial boost.

As part of a switching offer, eligible people who switch to a Reward account will receive the cash as long as they first pay in £1,250 within the first 60 days of completing the switch. They must also keep the money in the account for at least 24 hours, and log into the mobile app - and you'll need to be 18 or over to apply.

NatWest said: "Apply online or via our mobile app to open a new Reward account and switch your current account held elsewhere using the Current Account Switch Service. This means your old bank account will close and any funds and Direct Debits will move over to us.

"If you're an existing customer, you can switch your account held elsewhere in to an existing eligible Reward account, or switch in and upgrade an existing account to one of our Reward accounts."

Reward accounts come with a £2 monthly fee, however customers can earn up to £5 a month back in "Rewards", which can then be exchanged for cash back to your account, eGift codes, or donations to charity. Those with Reward accounts can also earn from 1% in Rewards when spending with a NatWest debit card at partner retailers.
