Greggs are everywhere now and many are open around the clock, but sometimes when you are craving a sausage roll the Greggs ovens are off. This is why they brought out their Iceland range so you can get the bakery experience at home.

But can you? Can you get the crispy, golden flaky pasty in your own oven? I, with the help of my very willing family, tested all nine of the Greggs Iceland range and ranked them from our least favourite to the best - with a surprising entry taking second place.

And if you are wondering, yes you can get the same great Greggs experience at home, you just might need to cook it for longer than the packet instructions. I timed everything to the minute but felt some needed a little longer and flipped them over to get the crispy golden coating - however, this may have just been my oven.

Also, there are no air fryer cooking instructions, but we did pop a sausage roll in our air fryer and it came out perfect. Here are the products ranked from least favourite to the best.

9. Greggs 2 Chicken Bakes 306g - £3 (4 for £10) - 4/10

In ninth place was the classic chicken bake, which surprised me as I remember enjoying this when I was younger, however, I also remember it having more flavour. I remember it being more peppery, but this seemed a little on the bland side.

The pastry is lovely and crisp, but the lumps of chicken are a little bland and the sauce has a very gloppy consistency which I was not overly fond of. But, for many this is their go-to Greggs order, so perhaps it is just me.

8. Greggs 2 Cheese & Onion Bakes 288g - £3 (4 for £10) - 5/10

Again, we have excellent pastry, Greggs really has this perfected. But again, this was a little bland and felt that it was not very cheesy.

It was a lot of onion and white sauce. But I am aware this is the veggie offering in the pasties and I think with a blob of ketchup (or salad cream - trust me) this would be easily elevated.

7. Greggs 2 Bacon & Cheese Wraps 194g - £3 (4 for £10) - 5.5/10

I have never had these before and they seem like a great breakfast treat. You have the same great pastry, but I think this may be a little too salty.

And my other issue was that the bacon doesn't crisp up and that is not always appealing, however maybe there is a way to cook it so it does, perhaps the air fryer can come to the rescue next time? And as with the cheese and onion bake, a little red sauce would be fantastic with this.

6. Greggs Limited Edition 2 Katsu Chicken Bakes 320g - £3 (4 for £10) - 6.5/10

The katsu bakes have just been added to the Iceland range and these smell great, a marked difference to the other more traditional fillings. Inside the bake has more chicken pieces than the chicken bake and the curry has a lovely heat to it with some really nice fruity notes.

This is a great flavour, but the pasty does seem drier than usual, even though the textured, spiced crumb that has been added as a coating is yummy, it perhaps contributes to the drier feel of the bake. But if you are looking for a kick of spice, this is perfect.

5. Greggs 2 Steak Bakes 280g - £3 (available 4 for £10) - 7/10

Now this would be my go-to Greggs, so I am surprised to see it mid-range. Don't get me wrong, it still has the great peppery, rich, silky gravy but when tasting them all, I felt the steak pieces were a little chewy and the filling was very wet.

But if you are at home, you can get your knife and fork out so the filling shouldn't be an issue. Still a classic, but others are better in my opinion.

4. Greggs 2 Corned Beef Bakes 290g - £3 (4 for £10) - 8/10

You can't get the corned beef bakes at my local Greggs as they are mainly sold in Wales. And I think it is time for them to be nationwide.

This was so comforting. The classic pastry, the added onion gives nostalgia for the corned beef hash you would have as a child and it would be amazing with a side of baked beans. Definitely time to get them in Greggs across the UK, but remember if your local doesn't serve them, you can always go to Iceland.

3. Greggs Vegan Sausage Rolls 4 Pack 420g - £3 (4 for £10) - 8.5/10

This is a great product and one I have enjoyed before out of choice, even though I do eat meat. And it is exactly the same at home. The lovely herby taste and smell make this delicious and while the pastry is a little drier and not as golden as the classic Greggs pasty, it is wonderfully crisp and flaky.

This even won over my very fussy four-year-old who struggles a lot with food smells and textures (if you know, you know).

2. Greggs 2 Sausage & Bean Melts 308g - £2.00 was £3 - 9.5/10

A shock entry for me at number two, but the sausage and bean melt was fantastic. I never get this, but will absolutely be buying it again. The beans have been wonderfully stewed - because that is the only way to have beans in my opinion - giving the filling a rich texture.

The sweetness from the sauce pairs so well with the sausage pieces, which are generous throughout. Add this to the amazing Greggs pastry and this is hard to beat, but it was beaten by the one and only....

1. Greggs 4 Sausage Rolls 427g - £3 (available 4 for £10) - 10000000/10

Well, what can I say? You can not beat a Greggs sausage roll. I was worried it wasn't going to cook up as well as when you get it fresh from the store, but I shouldn't have feared.

This is bakery perfection. And you get four for £3, who knew you could have heaven for so cheap?
