I discovered £11 cabin bag that will help passengers avoid Ryanair's £60 fines

A compact piece of hand luggage hailed as a summer sensation last year is back in the spotlight with its roomy interior and practical design.

With Ryanair recently revising its pricing for larger carry-on bags, this is more important now than ever. Oversized or additional cabin baggage once cost between £20 and £38 but has now risen to between £20 and £60 - upgrading post-booking or at the airport could mean facing these steeper charges.

Available on Amazon for £10.99, the Narwey bag perfectly matches Ryanair's stringent size requirements. By fitting it neatly under the front seat, travellers can save on additional luggage fees.

Disgruntled flyers have taken to social media to share their disgust at the rise, which many call a 'rip off.' An X user by the handle of @ColinScunner said: "So @Ryanair have put the price of Priority boarding up from £26 to £40 ... rip off ... everything extra, so you book your flight then it's add on after add on after add on. Before you know it you're another £100 out of pocket."

@Sickboy_Mcsatan also chimed: "Just avoid Ryanair if you can, they make EasyJet seem luxurious and customer friendly. They charge extra for *every* little thing, I'll never use them again if there's an alternative."

Some passengers were just confused by the sudden additional charges. @stuarthattonjr shared his experience saying: "My ticket included a 10kg bag. I only have hand luggage. At the gate the steward said you can't take hand luggage, That's £60. Pay it and we'll put it through as a 10kg bag"

This is where my lovely little bag comes into its own. Perfect for use on Ryanair flights, it is also suitable for use on easyJet, British Airways, Jet2, Wizz Air, and Virgin Atlantic. I purchased one last year to test it out and quickly understood why it's so popular.

With dimensions that fit Ryanair's approved 40 x 20 x 25 cm size, its spacious interior surprisingly accommodates all the essentials for a short trip. I packed two pairs of jeans, three T-shirts, a hoodie, two dresses, swimwear, plenty of socks and underwear, an extra pair of trainers, and my toiletry kit for a weekend getaway without any packing stress.

When I closed the bag, I was surprised at its sorcery. Previously shapeless, the bag's straps worked with the zipper to bring the original shape back, morphing it into a perfectly rectangular carry-on.

On a trip to France this summer, the bag fits easily under the seat in front, leaving space for my feet on either side. Compact and capable, this little bag is a bargain that's available all year round.

This particular bag boasts nearly 8,000 five-star reviews, with customers praising its utility, design and value for money.

One happy traveller raved about it saying, "Just perfect for the job" while another agreed saying "It's great for budget travel."

A third chimed adding "I recently purchased the foldable travel duffel bag for Ryanair Airlines from Amazon, and it has proven to be a fantastic addition to my travel gear. The size is perfect for Ryanair's underseat cabin bag requirements, measuring 40x20x25 cm when expanded."

Despite the praise, some users have reported issues, labelling the zipper delicate and the bag somewhat 'bit flimsy. ' In my experience though, I found that it easily held up against the demands of air travel, and the bargain price allowed me to save a little money for a vino on the plane.

The £10.99 Narwey bag comes in various colours and designs. For those still searching, other options like the chic Antler Chelsea and Cabin Max Metz from Next are also compatible with Ryanair’s stringent baggage policies.

In response to queries about the price hike, the airline said, "Fee varies depending on the route and travel dates selected," according to the Express.

The airline added, "Non-priority customers who have not added a bag to their booking can still purchase a 10kg Check-in bag at the airport bag drop desk for €/£ 35.99. Non-priority customers who bring their 10kg Check-in bag to the boarding gate may check it in against payment of a fee of €/£ 46.00 - €/£ 60.00".
