Tesla is recalling over 27,000 Cybertrucks due to a delay in the activation of the rearview camera image when shifting into reverse.

This marks the fifth recall for the vehicle since its launch late last year. Tesla has rolled out a free software upgrade to rectify the issue and plans to send out notification letters to owners on November 25. Since its release last year, Cybertruck owners have faced a series of recalls.

In June, there was a recall to fix issues with loose trim pieces and faulty front windscreen wipers. Two months before, some Cybertrucks were recalled due to a sticking accelerator pedal. In the latest recall, Tesla informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the display screens in affected trucks may remain blank for up to eight seconds after shifting to reverse, violating US regulations that require screens to activate a rearview within two seconds of shifting into reverse.

Elon Musk's Tesla delivered the first batch of its futuristic Cybertruck pickups to customers in November, two years later than initially planned.
