I'm a stationery lover and Papier's 2024 advent calendar is absolute heaven

Christmas may be two months away but many 2024 advent calendars from a variety of retailers are already flying off the shelves. This includes stationery brand Papier, which recently launched its 24 Doors of Desk Delights calendar.

If you're a stationery enthusiast who loves notepads, pens and more, or if you're looking to become more organised in 2025, you'll surely be thrilled by the 24 gifts hiding inside the calendar. The offerings from Papier include practical items like a weekly desk planner, to-do list pad, stickers, and much more.

Upon opening the cardboard box containing my 2024 Papier advent calendar, I found myself exclaiming 'oh wow'. Inside was a large midnight blue box adorned with a beautiful silver starry night pattern, tied with a matching blue ribbon - I couldn't wait to dive in.

The 24 Doors of Desk Delights calendar is priced at £140 and contains products worth a total of £200. I love the different compartments the calendar has - upon first opening the calendar, you can see seven of the pretty boxes staring up at you.

There's a wide drawer at the bottom that pulls out and two smaller sections that you open outwards, revealing a total of 24 beautiful boxes. I opened the calendar in numerical order, but I've jumbled them up to give you a bit of a surprise as to which product is in each numbered box if you decide to buy it.

As a stationery enthusiast myself, I was delighted to discover that many of the items in the Papier calendar are ones I don't already own, and some I've never used before. Even the items that are similar to ones I already have, like pens and notepads, brought me joy because they're so attractive and of high quality.

This includes the retailer's new Wiggle Top Ballpoint Pen (RRP £16) and the vibrant Quintet Fineliners (RRP £14) that will make my notes much prettier. The item I was probably most thrilled to find inside was a fabulous stamp set with four different stamps that's a smaller version of Papier's new Good Day Planner Stamp Set (RRP £16).

It comes with a 'to do' stamp, a tick, a love heart, and a wink emoji - there's something so gratifying about stamping a tick next to a task you've completed on your to-do list. There are two lovely exclusive items inside the calendar that surprised me, as I didn't anticipate finding them in a stationery calendar.

They are the 132 piece jigsaw puzzle and the A6 photo frame, both of which will look charming sitting on my desk. I'm a fan of a jigsaw, and Papier's is perfect for working on during my screen breaks.

While it's quite pricey, I'm delighted with the Papier 24 Doors of Desk Delights Advent Calendar and believe it justifies its £140 price tag if you're going to utilise everything inside. The only thing missing from this calendar is a 2025 diary which would have been a delightful addition, but I can add this to my Christmas wish-list instead.

Papier isn't the only retailer offering a stationery advent calendar this year. The Cult Pens 2024 Stationery Advent Calendar is available for pre-order now at £95, while Amazon offers a Bic Advent Calendar priced at £23. However, neither of these alternatives offer as much variety as the Papier option.
