Kicking off our list is the most popular portable speaker on Amazon. The Anker gadget is an Amazon's Choice product and has been reviewed by more than 32,000 shoppers to date, earning an impressive overall rating of 4.7 out of five.

The portable speaker usually costs £31.99, but for a limited time the online giant is selling it for £19.99. The device offers 24 hours battery life, stereo sound, and is waterproof, plus it boasts a Bluetooth range of 66 feet.

One delighted shopper who has already bought the Anker Soundcore Portable Speaker awarded it five stars and said: "It's been a game-changer. The sound quality is more than good enough and the range is great. I can carry it around the flat as I do stuff and it never loses connection with my iPod."

Unfortunately one buyer noted a slight issue: "The controls do not stand out enough. You have to go really close to see them as they are kind of embossed to the top of the speaker."

Over 1,300 Amazon customers have purchased the portable speaker to date. While a few reported that the speaker only lasted a few months, one shopper who awarded it five stars commented: "Handy and pretty cute. I love the small size and the nice colour.

"Haven't tested it out for battery life yet, but it's been great so far. Easy setup, good sound and great price for something that makes life around the house so much nicer."

Over 3,400 buyers have reviewed the speaker, with one awarding it full marks and saying: "This is a great little speaker, I use it all the time. It is easy to charge and lasts ages before it needs charging again. Easy to use and looks really neat."

Sadly one person wasn't impressed with the sound, as they noted: "Treble isn't really good, mid range is just okay and there's little to no bass in this product."

Over 2,400 Amazon shoppers have reviewed it to date, with one rating it five stars and saying: "An absolutely first class purchase. We took a risk as we didn't know this make but it was well worth it. Good quality sound and brilliant for holidays and not to heavy to carry in hand luggage. 100% pleased with this item."

Sadly one customer was disappointed with the speaker, as they explained: "It has a major design flaw that makes it unusable for listening to Audiobooks. It seems to have a strange battery saving function which means that it briefly cuts out every time there is a moment of silence in the speech of an audiobook."

The compact portable speaker has a 10-metre Bluetooth range and a built-in microphone for hands-free calls and online meetings. Over 9,300 Amazon customers have reviewed it to date, and while some commented on the sound quality being 'poor', many disagreed.

One buyer gave it full marks and wrote: "Very good value for money. A budget price with excellent quality performance. The sound produced is full, good range and bass."
