Primark's 'timeless' £22 fleece looks just like £135 Sweaty Betty version

Primark's £22 cosy new jacket looks similar to a more expensive version - with a much cheaper price tag

Primark is stocking a jacket that bears a striking resemblance to a designer alternative. Known for its affordable fashion and homeware, the high street giant may have just introduced a new crowd-pleaser.

The retailer's Faux Fur Zip-Up Jacket looks similar to a style by activewear brand Sweaty Betty, but at a fraction of the cost. Shoppers can snag the Primark version for £22, while the Canyon Fleece Zip Up carries a price tag of £135 online.

Both jackets share similar designs, with faux fur material and zip-up fronts. They also both have discreet pockets and are available in a range of colours, however, the Primark version has a slightly different collar and does not have adjustable toggles at the cuffs.

Primark's own description reads: "Cocoon yourself in cosiness with our faux fur zip-up jacket. The funnel neck helps keep the chill at bay, while the zip-up front fastening makes it easy to throw on in a flash (yes please, last minute strolls with your bestie!).

"With discreet pocket details to keep smaller-sized essentials on you at all times, this jacket is perfect for chilly trips out. Sweaty Betty describes the product as a "warm, everyday fleece for chilly weather" that is made of "soft sherpa fleece." It is also said to have a "cosy funnel neck" with full centre zip, adjustable toggles at the cuffs and hem, and two side pockets.

Sweaty Betty's Canyon Fleece Zip Up carries a price tag of £135, while the Primark equivalent is on offer for just £22, presenting shoppers with a potential saving of approximately £113 if they go for the high street substitute.
