Dunelm's new £79 log burning stove 'without the hassle' of real logs
by Lauren Haughey · Manchester Evening NewsWith the cold weather settling in, a myriad of Brits are on the lookout for ways to warm their abodes during the chilly season. If you're among them, your search may well be over - Dunelm has unveiled a low-maintenance solution to banish the winter blues.
Priced at £79, this effective 'log fire stove' promises to turn any frosty room into a snug retreat. Yet, a second glance reveals there's not a single log to be seen; the store advertises it as 'designed to keep you warm without the hassle of a real log fire'.
"The realistic flame design can be enjoyed as a cosy visual effect even when you don't need warming up - perfect for entertaining with friends and family," Dunelm says. "Crafted with a black cast effect finish to complete the modern look in your home. The compact design makes this a fantastic addition to a smaller space."
Importantly, the imitation log fire includes two heating options - 1000W and 2000W - alongside a safety auto-stop feature.

This means the stove automatically shuts down before overheating occurs, providing 'peace of mind' for users heating their homes, they say. It also boasts an admirable 4.7-star customer rating, and numerous reviews on the Dunelm website show that purchasers are extolling its virtues.
One wrote: "Exactly what I was looking for, heats our conservatory quickly," as another added: "Very realistic flames." Someone else even declared: "I love my log fire especially for the price too.
"Definitely worth the money." However, a reviewer on the Dunelm website said: "Not the quietest, much lighter alloy construction than expected. But decent for the value end of the market."
For those who might not be swayed by the charm of a log burner, alternative methods to stay cosy this winter are available. A £17 electric blanket is being offered by a furniture retailer, ideal for those missing out on freebies from companies likeOctopus and OVO Energ y.
This particular blanket features 35W power, three separate heat settings and a handy remote, allowing users to choose the temperature that ensures a comfortable sleep. Elsewhere, B&Q is championing its 'Diall Radiator reflector' foil, claimed to cut home heat loss by 'up to 50%', potentially helping to reduce energy consumption over time.
This aluminium, reflective sheet, priced at just £14.97, can easily be trimmed to snugly fit behind a radiator, reflecting heat back into the room and reducing heat lost through walls that lack proper insulation. Additionally, Screwfix offers a roll of insulating foil measuring 195mm x 500mm for only £9.99, while The Range provides an alternative for £23.99.
