Amazon slashes £120 hair dryer hailed as 'better than GHD' by almost 70%

We all know how important a good hairdryer is. Not only can it help you style your locks perfectly, but a high quality device reduces any potential heat damage.

But top quality doesn't necessarily mean you have to shell out a whole load of cash. In fact, Remington has a brilliant deal on its Advanced Coconut Therapy Hair Dryer - bringing it down to £39.99 from its full price of £119.99.

This is the kind of gadget that really puts hair health first. It contains a conditioning ring infused with coconut and UV filters, meaning they're released into the airflow as you dry your hair - protecting it from damage and keeping it nice and moisturised.

The integrated heat sensor prevents it from overheating, but it's still powerful - with a 2300-watt motor helping give you a sleek blow-dry at home. And while it's not an absolute deal breaker, it comes in a fetching jade colour - making it a whole lot chicer than your bog standard hairdryer.

With over 1,100 global ratings on Amazon, happy customers have awarded Remington's hair dryer 4.6 stars out of five. "Professional hairdryer, not too heavy. Longer cable than other dryers I've had. Powerful and multi heat settings. Attachments for all hair types. Not forgetting a great colour!" one shopper raved.

Another compared it to another massive haircare tech brand in their review: "This hairdryer is excellent value for money, easy to hold, lightweight controls are easy to use. Upon drying my hair using this hairdryer I have not had to use my hair straighteners my hair has been really smooth I prefer this to my GHD." While a third was simpler in their praise: "Lovely hairdryer good speed and heat settings."

So what of the detractors? A few minority voices had some notes to share, like one who warned: "Quite heavy but dries hair quickly." While another complained: "It's very loud!"

If you did want to shop around, there are plenty of options out there. On the more premium end of the market is GHD - some people still swear by its gadgets to give them a five-star blow-dry, with the Air Hair Dryer costing £139. For something a bit more wallet-friendly, The Hair Lab by Mark Hill Hairdryer costs £29.99 from Boots, reduced from £59.99.
