'Phenomenal' Beats Solo 4 drop £50 in final Amazon Prime Day sale

by · Manchester Evening News

Music fans will no doubt have been looking out for a good deal on headphones across Amazon's Big Deals Day. And thankfully, they may need to look no further.

Amazon has just dropped the Beats Solo 4 price by 27 percent for the final day of the Prime Day deals. The headphones, which boast a staggering 50-hour battery life, are now just £145.35.

According to price-tracker Honey, this is one of the lowest historical prices for the product. Originally, the Beats Solo 4 headphones cost £199.95. That's a saving of £54.

The Beats Solo 4 on-ear headphones allow users to enjoy some versatility with their music. With a powerful Bluetooth functionality, you can hook up to your devices with ease - whether they are Apple or Android products.

What's more, you can use a USB-C cable to directly connect to your device, as well. And with "ultra-plush" ear cushions, the lightweight product allows for comfortable wear in any situation.

The Beats Solo 4 have a plethora of positive, five-star reviews on Amazon to back up its claims, as well. At the time of writing, Bee reviewed the product: "The sound is phenomenal! Super comfy to wear and the battery life lasts for ages. Pretty size inclusive as they can adjust quite a lot! Fold up and fit in a lovely little case which is great for transportation."

Tomas agreed about the Beats Solo 4: "Early birthday present for my wife. She's delighted with them. I tested them myself and the sound quality is brilliant out of them. I've had conversations with her while she's been on them and the microphone is brilliant on them. She said they're very comfortable and are very easy to connect to a phone. Overall very happy."

A third Amazon user commented: "Now a lot of people will rightly say that this is overpriced and priced the way it is because of the brand. However the quality of these cannot be knocked, for the average person the sound quality is still fantastic. They're well constructed and look great. 50hrs of battery time pretty much covers my whole week commuting plus gym time which is fantastic and I'm not constantly worried about recharging. They're comfortable to wear, lightweight and can be worn for a long time without issue. Super pleased overall."

Not every review has been positive, however. One Amazon reviewer claimed: "I am a very disappointed as someone that had all Apple and I have the old Solo Pro. Those headphones sound good on the average consumer side and they are very good looking, more comfortable than the Solo Pro, however, one major flaw is connectivity. Every time I turn it on they do not connect automatically and it takes a few tries to settings or stop the music on and off again, sometimes it works and sometimes I need to reconnect them. Very annoying, huge failure for Apple."

Another concurred: "Sound quality is the most important part of this package and what's that like I hear you ask. Uninspiring, uninspiring, uninspiring is all I can say, a bit like the app, where's the presets, where's the equaliser, where's the value, and now my ears hurt from the clamping force, where's the door..."

A third customer added: "Nice headphones, but I'm not sure where all the money is going?"

If these reviews put you off, there are plenty of other headphone options around the internet. That includes this set of Marshall Major IV Wireless Bluetooth On-Ear headphones from John Lewis. At the time of writing, they are priced at just £83.49.
