Money saving expert shares hidden detail on UK coins you've never noticed

We've seen a manner of rare coins hit the internet, including the new 50p coin skyrocketing in value and £2 worth a mega fortune. But now it's not their worth which is causing the latest discussion.
Instagram user Jordan Cox, known as @couponkiduk, who has 137,000 followers and regularly shares top deals and bargains, discovered an interesting fact about UK coins.
The money-saving guru, who often appears on ITV's This Morning, revealed a pattern that can be formed using your change. He said: "I didn't know coins did this."
While a voiceover added: "UK coins form a shield pattern, can you see it?" In the caption, Jordan wrote: "I'm shook – and I've been a 'money expert' for 12 years."
He continued: "Find the right UK coins between 1p and 50p, and they can be arranged in a shield pattern. I post money saving reels tricks every week, check out my feed and follow for more!"
The video quickly garnered thousands of likes and comments, with one person joking: "My money isn't in my bank account long enough to check things like this."
Another added: "Who knew?" A third commented: "I never notice that before..." While a fourth chimed in: "Omg wow."
However, some social media users pointed out that this was actually old news. One person was flabbergasted: "Are people genuinely only discovering this now? That in itself is mind-blowing to me."
Another shared their revelation: "I learned this on a tour of the Tower of London some years back and was equally astounded."
