Lucid Bed Recall Involves Over 137,000 Frames At Risk Of Collapse

by · Forbes

A popular bedding brand sold at Amazon and Target is recalling more than 137,000 upholstered platform beds due to a risk of collapse. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and CVB Inc. issued a Lucid bed recall of the brand’s platform beds with upholstered square tufted headboards, noting that “the recalled beds can sag, break or collapse during use, posing fall and injury hazards to consumers.”

About 137,000 of the beds were sold in the U.S., and 890 were sold in Canada—all are part of the recall.

There have been 245 incidents linked to the recalled bed frame in the U.S., and 18 people have suffered contusions and bruises as a result, per the CPSC’s statement. There have also been reports of 11 issues related to the beds in Canada.

The recalled beds were sold at Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, Belk.com, Brookside, eBay, Home Depot, JC Penney, Lowes, Lucid, Macys, Menards, Overstock, QVC, Sears, Target, Malouf VIP, Wayfair and Walmart, between September 2019 through April 2024, according to the CPSC. The brand stated that this particular Lucid bed frame was discontinued.

The recall affects all sizes of the beds, including twin, full, queen, king and Cal king sizes. The beds were sold in beige, black, charcoal, cobalt, pearl and stone colors. Each has wooden support beams, wooden support legs and a white federal law label printed with “Made For: CVB INC, 1525 W 2960 S, LOGAN, UT 84321” on the backside of the headboard.

People who own the bed should immediately stop using it and contact Lucid for a replacement bed frame. Consumers are asked to write “recalled” on the support rails of the bed with a permanent market and send a picture of the bed, along with a picture of the support rails or photo of the law label to recall@lucidmattress.com to get the free replacement frame. You can also call the brand at 888-910-0235, Monday through Friday.
